Yeah lots of people have opinions on bed sharing 😬 in other countries it's pretty much standard but in the states it's always looked down on. I didn't plan to but it was either that and everyone got sleep or nobody slept. My son slept ON ME for the first three weeks of his life. I felt so guilty and nervous but my midwife reassu me that i was doing what was best for us in the meantime. His breathinf synced up with mine which lowered his corrisol levels, so he slept better. By week 4 of life he was sleeping on his back in our bed because he didn't sleep in his crib or bassinet. He's 14 months now and still in our bed but he slept through the night without a feeding since he was about 7/8 months. At around 4-6 he was only doing 1-2 feedings over night. Once my husband finishes up his second masters we're planning on sleep training him in his crib but my husband will do it. My son associates sleep with me since i nurse at bedtime and naps. We've noticed that if I'm not there he doesn't have a choice. So getting him to sleep I'll be in a different room and once he's asleep and settled I'll come back into our room for bed. I pray it works because i need my space back tbh 😅 we're trying for another baby and we'll eventually need the space

Its biologically normal for her to want to be close, you can co-sleep safely if you're willing. Look into the safe 7 i think its called. Also there are studies that claim the infant sleeping next to the mother lowers the chance of sids. Your heart rate & breathing helps her regulate her own. My babys sleep awfully alone but next to me they usually sleep all night unless teething. She will grow out of it eventually ❤

I’ve had the same experience with my baby. I had him 3 weeks early due to preeclampsia and he’s always struggled breastfeeding and our bottle/pumping/formula schedule is so chaotic and it’s so hard on me mentally. Just know you’re not alone and you’re doing great and the best you can ❤️

Also I had a 37wkr that was considered term but he was born at 4 lbs 8oz and he was exclusively breastfed and it was work to get him to stay latched but the more often you do it and work at it the easier it will become. It can be work to keep them actively sucking. But the older they get the stronger they become. Just really make sure she’s getting that hind milk with each feed. The NICU makes you question everything about breastfeeding bcuz it’s all about numbers but you’ve done this before trust the breastfeeding process.

Breastfeed her more often. I am a NICU nurse. She will get there. Make sure she is breastfeeding on one side for at least 20-25 mins to get the hind milk where all the fat comes from.

That's how I started co-sleeping with my daughter. It was just the only way that I could get sleep and stay sane! I also really enjoy the snuggles!

How long was your baby in the NICU?

I remember my toddler when he was that tiny, he would do the same. Fuzz every 3 mins, his paci would fall and he would cry. I never co slept because I was so scared and also he had an episode of apnea that traumatized us. The age between 1m-7m is so hard.

As a PT, I recommend continuing to go to pelvic floor PT and Pilates will definitely be a better option than orange theory right now to help your back. Idk what the chiro is doing for you, but if they are continuing to do adjustments where you hear a pop, it actually could be making things worse. You probably have more mobility in your joints than you should have and strengthening/PT exercises are better for you right now. 🙏🏼💕

Hi Aspyn. I m neonarology nurse and I just want to say that it s perfectly normal for a baby born this early to want sleep with you. Their brain and neuro system has not fully developed so that s why she is so fussy, she just need skin to skin time. And about breastfeeding, hold on the pumping till she gain weight properly and then you can try to teach her how to latch and then maybe fully breastfeed 😊 good luck ❤ you are best mom for your babies no matter what 😉 Sorry for my writening english is not my first language 😊

I co slept with my second cause he was the same, it’s all about safety and survival! Do what works best for you. Your doing good mama, I know you have a lot going on praying for peace and healing over your life💕

My baby was born at 31 weeks and let me tell you she was a difficult baby haha😂 and it was my first baby. Premature babies are just a different breed! 😅

Is baby in a bassinet normally? My littlest was born 3/22 and he will only sleep well in his crib now, or my bed while I’m right there (getting dressed or folding laundry) he hates the bassinet for being so stiff😅

your baby sounds exactly like mine!!! i’ve been co sleeping with him since he came home from the hospital for 4 months now and every nap has been a contact nap lol. some babies just need extra love ♥️♥️

My first son is the worst sleeper. I swore I wouldn’t bed share but here we are 😂 he’s 12 months old and he still wakes up 5-10 times a night.

Parker is such a good dad🥹 car picnic is so cute. They’ll definitely remember that when they grow up. Good job momma. Bad sleepers are sooo hard. The anxiety I would feel in the evening was terrible 🥺

What you’re going through with this baby sounds a lot like the struggles we had with my first. She was a premie too, and struggled with sleeping, colic, and feeding. Just know that you aren’t doing anything wrong. Some babies just are more challenging. With my daughter we alternated breastfeeding and formula feeds for 7 months until she eventually started refusing the breast. I wish I had heard of more people combo feeding at the time because I felt like it had to be one or the other, and it didn’t

cosleeping isn’t actually as dangerous as many people think and it’s normal in many other cultures!!

My baby was the same way as yours. She would not sleep very long in her bassinet. She would only sleep if she was held, so I had to co-sleep to get any sleep. We just did it safely. You do what you got to do to survive. With my baby, I also had to 7:31 breast feed, pump, and offer a bottle at every feeding. It is exhausting!!! My doctor said babies prefer the bottle over breast because they don’t have to work as hard to eat from a bottle.
